Patterns danced in front of the mans closed eyes. Powers different in shape and size danced like the flames of candles in his mind's eye. Many were strong but not all of them, he focused on two fighting ones. Even he couldn't tell if they were two people in the heat of battle or if only their auras were close and colliding while they sat and talked. He could tell the two people below him weren't just having pleasent converstation.
"Stay away from me!" A woman shrieked. And another voice came from the same direction. "I'll do as I please." a male voice this time. The man on the roof focused on the two below him, the male had a much stronger aura, that of a vampire. He then focused on the woman and then to the flow of power in the town. His face twisted into a stern empty look. He knew what he had to do.
He opened his eyes and looked at the sight below him the woman had become entrapped in the vampire's eyes and he was moving her head for an easier bite. The man jumped down from the roof and pulled his blade from it's sheath quickly. In one swift moment of the man's body the vampire dropped and his head followed a few seconds afterward. Not a drop of blood landed on either the woman or the man that saved her.
After a few more seconds the woman started to get the life back in her eyes and say. "Thank-y.." but was cut off suddenly. "No madam, don't thank me.... I'll make it as painless and clean as I can." A look of horror came over her face. She took a step back and was about to turn and run. The man uttered two words as thrusted the blade and twisted the sword slightly. In between a heart beat she collapsed and he caught her and softly layed her down. The words he said coming to his mouth again with more this time. 'I'm sorry, but it was necessary to keep the balance'. He stood up and cleaned his blade staring into the darkness but seeing the flow of power this time with his eyes open. Saddness filled his eyes but otherwise his face still held it's stern look.

I had heard the scream and ran to where I had heard it and saw a vampire attacking a women and was ready to attack him but then saw a stranger help the women and I smiled and then turned away. Just then I heard what was said and turned just in time to see the women being killed by the stranger. I took out my katanas and yelled "You monster!" and my eyes changed to a blood red and I launched at him ready to strike to kill.

An aura behind him changed, it took on a demonic hue but the shape remained that of a vampire. A voice shouted at the man and he could tell by the first breath out that it was a woman... with two katanas as the wind carried the sound of them being unsheathed.
"Yes, I am a monster for what I've done." The man said without turning around. "I would have been a monster if I did nothing and though you won't belive me I would have been a monster had I stopped with him." He could hear her drawing closer and still made no move to turn. "Do what you must," he said as if it didn't matter one way or another how things would turn out. Then he started to take a step forward.

I had heard what the man said was was confused at what he said and wondered why he would not defend himself. I never attack an opponent deadly unless they are armed and ready to strike at me, so when I drew close I turned my one katana around so that the hilt would get the man in the stomach.

The wind carried the change of her tatic to the man's ears. His words had only piqued her curiousty enough that she wouldn't kill him without being prevoked further. At the last possible moment he sidestepped her attack staying just far enough away that if she was able to change direction and attack again he was out of reach.
With another swift side step he was behind her. He reached out with his blade. Attempting to tap her on her shoulder with the flat of his blade and spoke, "I have no desire to fight you ma'am. But if that's what it takes to leave here and not be followed then that is what 'I must do'." He was ready to jump back no matter if his blade did tap her or not.

When then flat side of the mans blade tapped me on the shoulder with the flat side of his blade, i froze for a moment and then said "I will never stop hunting you because you killed that women for no reason." She then turned and slashed at him with her other katana.

He jumped back before she swung the kantana. "No reason? Hmmm... I suppose from your outlook it was a cruel fate being given hope of life and have it taken away. Was she a friend of yours.... would you have set more people at death's doors to save her?" He know for her he was speaking in riddles or at the very least disconnected topics.

"She was not a friend of mine, I havw sworn to protect the innocent of this city...and what do you mean by would I have set more people at death's doors to save her" I said and got ready to attack again.

He stared into the flow of energy again. Thoughts of how much should he explain came to the man's mind. She like so many others in this town were important to Balance's plan but in the big picture someone else would be able to take her place. None of the things he would share were secerts, most just lost in time so no harm would come if he did share. But even knowing that it didn't make sense to tell anyone his beliefs.
"If she were to live after what had already taken place.... many would have died." He studied her aura and her face to see if she gave hint of shock or disbelief. He assumed it was a bit of both but it was always hard to tell how indiviuals will and do react.
He knew it was a foolhardy move but he put his sword back into it's sheath and held out his hands like like a scale. "If you value an innocent life so much than tell me which would you sacrifice:" He motioned with one hand like something being added to it, " vampires of several towns being hunted and killed like wild animals or...," he motioned to the other hand and brought the other one up till they were even again, " or humans of many towns including this one mesmorised and lead into either their death or to be changed into a vampire." Even through all his 'explaination' he didn't let a movement she made go undetected. She had listened this long and that was more than most others would have done. He was quite suprised but didn't let it show.

I listened to the man and was a little shocked and I did not believe what he said. “I would sacrifice neither race…but if I had no choice then I already know who I would sacrifice.” I then looked at the man and said “Why would letting the woman live cause many to die in the first place.”
