"In either case, we can only go as far as that forest that surrounds the castle, then we must proceed on foot. It is up to you how you wish to get there . . .as I said, it is a rather long journey . . .several days of travel, even for two vampires"

I listened to her and sighed and said "Mabe the shadows is a better idea and then if I have to I will use the spell"

I smiled at her. "After all, I need you at full strength to help me fight him . . .and we will need a fair amount of luck and skill to even get to the castle. If need be we will force our way in . . ." I offered my hand for a second time. "I'll need you to trust me in this, my friend."

"Oh I trust you my friend" I said and then took her hand and went beside her and added "I trust you with my life and I hope you trust me as well."

As I took her hand in mine, I pondered the idea of trust . . .I knew that I could, the question was, would I? "Ask me that again when we find who we're looking for. Unfortunately, it has been a nessesity for me not to trust anyone . . .but, perhaps, just this once, I could make an exception." I smiled as the shadows engulfed us and carried us far over the landscape, over forests and rivers, houses and feilds, roads and mountains . . .until at last, we landed again on an old worn road. I let go of Tethys' hand, and, not needing to turn, for I would not see it anyway, I said. "Welcome to the Black Forest." I mostioned behind me vaguely to let her see the expance of land that stretched away. It was a black and dead place, filled with skelital trees and haunted wind . . .nothing lived there, nothing had ever lived there. "And," I added. "Beyond it, is Blue Ridge Castle, the home of Morgan Sholamare."

I heard her but before I could say anything, I felt her shadows engulfed us and take us away. We then arrived to a place I have never been to and I looked around and heard her and said "Why does ever place I go to have a dark name like 'the black forest?" I then shook my head and said "Ok I will ask for your trust another time and now let us head to Blue Ridge Castle and get this over with."

I nodded to Tethys. I then pulled loose the drawstrings on my cloak and let it fall to the ground. What lied beneath was a tarnished leather suit, deep red in color. It was covered with blades of every shape and size, including . .. Two long blades strapped to each wrist that could be brought to hand in a second's notice. A belt that was laced with throwing knives, and a hunting knife in either boot. "Very well, let us begin." I took my staff but left behind my cloak, knowing that I would have to come back alive to get it back. I began walking up the sloping path to my father's castle . . .his prison.

My mouth droped when she removed her clock and I saw all the weapons she had and then I closed it and shook my head for all I had for weapons was two kantans, two daggers and a knife in my boot. But that was fine with me because I also had my powerful spells to and I was a trained like an assassin once I became a vampire and was deadly with both weapons and magic. I then followed Robin still with my cloak on and went threw some of the spells I knew that would be very helpful.

As I walked, I could feel Tethys' magical aura build. "Use what magics you can, Tethys . . .I have none of my own, despite the power that my mother had. I will need your skills, I sense strong magic in you, that will be of great help when we find Sholamare . . ." A stail breeze blew through the dead and dying trees of the black forest, carrying on it the scent of decay and age. "This place was not always so, you know." I said rather sadly. "It was once lush and green, however, when my mother banished my father to the castle above, it was said that his evil and bloodlust leaked from the castle walls themselves and poisened the air, the water, and the animals that lived here . . .and slowly, the trees withered and died, the air grew fowel so no birds or animals would live in the forest, and the people shied away from it, thus it was know from then on as the Black Forest."

“You can count on my skill” I said as I walked behind her and then listened to her as she talked about the woods and I heard the sadness in her voice. “If we can defeat him, then the forest will be brought back to life and the water will be cleaned once again…it will take many years thought but I will try to quicken the healing process with my magic.”
