I leaned into her arms and her kisses. Then I regained my human form and took her into my arms. "I promise." I leaned on her, my body bruised and bleeding but I was happy as I could ever be. " I would never leave you Sita, I made a vow to you before, did I not?"

Sita smiled slightly and nodded her head "Yes you did." She looked at his bruised body and ran her hands over the bruises softly. As she did the pain from them went away but she kept them showing on his skin, knowing that he wore them proudly. She ran her hand over his scars and closed them so they stopped bleeding but left them as well.

I smiled at Sita. "Thankyou, my love. Thanks to your touch, I think I should just about live." I brought a hand to her face and nodded. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to." I stood slowly and turned to the pack that had since gathered in the clearing. They surrounded Borgoth's unmoving body but the weren't looking at him, they were looking at me. And, in front of them all, stood Rain. I swallowed hard and stepped forward. And, as I did so, the wolves of the northern mountains became people, became human. "Your leader is gone!" I shouted to them all "And by rights of the wolfen creed, I have the right to claim leadership!" There were nods, bows and smiles from most, disapointed faces and frowns from the few others who had favored Borgoth. But Rain stood smiling at me and when she ran forward to hold me, there was little choice but to hold her . . . A tear came to my eye. However, it was not one of joy, but one of sadness, for Rain, no matter what she had meant to me in the past . . .was not my mate. She never had been really. Though I had wanted her to be then . . .and she had wanted me . . .it had never come to pass. And now I had to tell her the truth. "Rain . . .there is something that I have to tell you . . ." She looked up at me and I thought that I was going to break in two . . . "I have found my mate . . .and she is standing just over there." I saw Rain's eyes glance towards where Sita stood, and then back again. Then her expression dulled and she hung her head a little. "Oh . . ." she said very softly "I see then . . .well . . .I am happy for you both." I heaved a sigh. "I am sorry Rain, but I never thought I would come back, never thought I would lose the first time for that matter. But please don't think that I never cared, because I did, I did very much. That is why I want to make you leader in my stead, because I know it will be left in good hands."

Sita looked away when Rain hugged Morgan but when he started talking to her she looked up and looked in Rains eyes. Nothing was in Sita's eyes except the fact that they kept changing between her vampiress eyes and her tiger eyes. She smiled slightly when he chose Rain to be leader. Even though she didn't know Rain she knew somehow that it was a good choice. She walked up to Rain and said, "I'm more than positive you will make an excellent leader."

As Sita spoke up, Rain turned to her. I could see some sadness in those clear blue eyes, for she knew immediately that she was trully in love . . . But then, Rain did something that I did not expect. She stepped forward and hugged Sita, as one might a sister. And when she stepped away, there was a pained smile on her face. "You are the lover of Morgan Elsted, and so, by wolfen rights, you are a sister to all his clan. Should you ever need us, all you need do is call . . ." Then she came close to me, and kissed me lightly on the cheek. "And to you, brother Morgan, I will accept leadership, and you as second in command. Let the past stay in the past, all is well now."
I bowed my head to her and to the others, did likewise . . .and then I turned to Sita. Smiling at her I said softly. "My job is done, my love . . .please, let us return home."

Sita stood there awkwardly for a moment then hugged her back. When she stepped away and Morgan asked her to take them home she smiled and nodded. As she nodded the shadows wrapped around them and they landed on the cliff where they first met (sort of).

When we arrived again outside of the mountains, I slumped down on the ground and tried to keep myself from shaking. Then, after a moment or two I looked up at the moonlit sky and smiled to myself "It is done," I said softly "after all this time, it is finally done." I looked to Sita, and motioned for her to join me. "I thought that I would have died if you hadn't been there, Sita. It was you that forced me to my feet in the last moments of the battle . . .thankyou."

Sita sat next to him and cuddled up to him, "I could never lose you. It would hurt to much and then I wouldn't have a reason to live." She hugged him, "It was nothing really."

I returned her embrase. "You've no need to worry, my love. As I have said on more than one occasion, I won't leave you." I smiled at her and then leaned forward and kissed her softly in the moonlight. "I suppose you could say that you are my reason for living as well." I sighed and closed my eyes, breathing in the scents of the night. My body trembled slightly from all that had been taken from it, but I didn't care. I had my honor as a wolf back, I had Sita, and I had a life again. I felt as if I could take on the world and it wouldn't matter what happened . . .

Sita kissed him back just as softly then buried her face in his shoulder. As she felt him shudder she looked up and said, "You need your rest."
